Maxwell's Demon Gets an Agent
A comic parody of Maxwell's Demon, exposing my view on the sentiment around AI-powered science.
The Maxwell-LLM Paradox
Meet Maxwell's new Agent, who stands at the gate,
With a plugin or two to sort out the state!
He traps all the cold in a vector-db,
And streams out the hot for his memory to see.
With a quick context-switch, he lowers the heat,
And turns messy old physics to tidy and neat!

He claims that a prompt can reverse any flow,
With an RAG-powered toolkit that puts on a show!
"Don't bother with calculus, tensor, or strain,
My LLM brain will bypass the pain!"
He loops through an agentic, self-healing routine,
To fix solid mechanics via Python machine.

A fracture mechanics mishap? No reason to cry!
Just spin up an extension and give it a try.
The prompt-engineer shouts, "It's practically done!
The embeddings are rich, the fine-tuning has won!"
With synthetic data, the crack disappears,
Ignoring the strain-energy built up for years.

Need thermodynamics? Just call a new tool!
Why listen to Kelvin? He's old-fashioned school.
The Agent hallucinations are packaged as skills,
To solve Navier-Stokes and computational bills.
It ignores the constraints of a physical bound,
While generating charts that look highly profound.

So the servers hum loudly, the coolant runs high,
As gigawatts vanish straight into the sky.
The prompt-hustler cheers at the "magic" he wrought,
But the math is all wrong and the logic is shot.
You burned half a river to cool down the zone...
To prove that a demon can't do it alone.
